| Wellington Sector |
NZCH-W_CTR |
Wellington Sector comprises the airspace above the Taranaki, Kapiti, Wellington, and Marlborough regions.
The sector's main airport is Wellington International (NZWN), with flights serving almost all New Zealand's regional centres and numerous flights to cities in Australia. Other significant airports within the sector include New Plymouth (NZNP), Nelson (NZNS), and Woodbourne (NZWB) in Blenheim.
As well as serving its own airports, the sector sees a significant amount of overflight traffic between Auckland and the South Island, making the airspace in the Taranaki Bight oftentimes some of New Zealand's busiest.
The sector is bordered by Auckland Sector to the north, Ohakea Sector to the east, South Island - North Sector to the south, and New Zealand Oceanic - Auckland Sector to the west.
