The Sunday is the finale of the Queenstown Winterfestival 2009. An estimated 60,000 visitors will be crammed into the Wakatipu Basin, and it's our job to get them all home in time for the new working week.

Fly from one of Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch to Queenstown to pick up your share of the passengers and then return them to you home base.

Mountainous terrain, loads of traffic, and winter weather should make this a fun and challenging evening for controllers and pilots alike.

On Thursday we will leave Paraparaumu and head down to Woodbourne.

First we will be departing Paraparaumu aerodrome to the west over the Cook Strait to D'Urville Island in the Marlborough Sounds. Once at the island we head south west to the coast near Okiwi Bay, then we will head direct east to Elaine Bay. From the Elaine Bay you can enjoy the wonderful sights of the Marlborough Sounds while navigating in a southerly direction to Havelock. At Havelock follow the Kaituna Valley to Woodbourne to complete the flight.
