Christchurch Control - Bay Sector
This position controls the airspace above the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Taupo, Ureweras, East Cape and Poverty Bay.
Controllers will indicate whether they are offering extended service outside of their control area in their ATIS.

Note: the Radio Callsign is Christchurch Control, not Bay Centre.
Note: As of 30 July 2009 this position is established as Bay Sector. Previously it had been part of Auckland Sector. The previous name and callsign (NZCH-A_CTR) should no longer be used.

Gisborne Tower provides Aerodrome and Approach Control for Gisborne Airport (NZGS).(SFC-9500ft within 40NM GS)
Since it is a tower which provides its own approach control, you can anticipate handoff to Gisborne Tower 40nm from Gisborne VOR.
Note: Given the extended coverage area of this position, should use multiple VIS points to achieve the desired level of radar coverage. Controllers should not extend above the maximum 50nm range for Tower coverage.
