Exploring the Deep South

This week's SNO (Sunday Night Ops) sees you park up your jet and come and explore New Zealand's wonderous South of the South in your favourite light aircraft, light twin or helicopter.

Depart Dunedin and head over the Southern Alps and drop into Queenstown, New Zealand's adventure capital for a full stop or touch and go before heading up and over Lake Whakatipu and head out to the wild West Coast and down into Milford Sound.  Again, touch and go at Milford Sound or stop and relax a while, before heading South around the coast and land at Southland's Invercargill Airport before heading back to Dunedin and completing a wonderful round trip.

NOTE: there is a MAJOR bug with the NZMF in the default FSX scenery that results in an 850ft high airport-shaped plateau that shoots up from the floor of the sound. If you are using default FSX you need to install this scenery update to fix the problem. This fix is NOT required for users of Orbx South Island or Orbx Milford Sound payware scenery.  FS2004 is not afflicted with this issue.

Charts available for all airports in the VATNZ Airspace Reference Pages.
