Mount Doom (Taupo)

This weeks SNO is based around Mount Doom. Mount Doom (Mt Ngaruahoe) was featured in the Lord of the Rings moive series as the mountain that the rings were destroyed at the end of the series. It is based Taupo (NZAP) and is commonly service by Air New Zealand Link.

Tourist often wanting to visit Mount Doom will often fly into Taupo. It is visible also from Mount Tongiraro. With it's challenging NDB/DME A approach, it will be a great challenge for those new and experienced!
