Training Manager

Responsible to:

  • Training Director

Direct Reports:

  • Nil

Duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Training Department, including administrative coordination and workload allocation.
  • Provide support and guidance to rated VATNZ controllers seeking additional training or development.
  • Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of training procedures and processes.
  • Support the Training Director in the management of training operations, and deputise for the Director where required (excluding Board-level functions).
  • Carry out any other duties as agreed with the Training Director.

Position Holder Attributes:

  • Be a member of the VATNZ Division for more than 12 months and in good standing.
  • Hold a minimum controller rating of C1 (Enroute Controller).
  • Demonstrate familiarity with VATNZ training and operational policies.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and support other controllers and team members.
    Demonstrate competence in the use of VATSIM-approved controller client software.
  • Have experience in instruction, mentoring, or contributing to training activities within VATNZ or another Division.
  • Demonstrate the ability to coordinate tasks and contribute effectively to team-based training initiatives.
