Ryans Creek (NZRC)
Ryans Creek aerodrome is owned and operated by Stewart Island Flights, based in Invercargill. Ryans Creek is a challenging chip-seal strip featuring an interesting slope with unusual windshear combinations with different wind directions. Stewart Island Flights opearte two BN2A Islander aircraft and two Cherokee 6's (PA32) aircraft to and from Invercargill from Ryans Creek. Occassionally you may see the odd touring aircraft or a tail-dragging Cessna 185 on stopover from Masons Bay dropping off hikers for the various walks and tracks Stewart Island has to offer.
