Nelson and Hamilton

This week the action is centred on two busy regional airports: Nelson at the top of the South Island, and Hamilton in the North Island's Waikato region.

The flight routes between these two airports cover a diverse range of scenery from the mountains of the Nelson region, crossing the Taranaki Bight, skirting the flanks of the spectacular Mt Taranaki and the North Island's west coast, to the lush farmland of the King Country and Waikato regions, there is no shortage of views out the aircraft window.

Pilots should start at either airport and aim to complete a round trip.

A round trip between the two airports should take approximately two hours. Latecomers should simply fly only one sector.
