Oceanic Explorers

Aloha, Kia Ora and welcome to the Oceanic Explorers!

A thousand years before radios and radar, Polynesian navigators crossed the largest ocean on Earth with nothing but the stars, the swell, and the birds to guide them. They found Hawai'i. They found Aotearoa.
You get autopilot, maps, SATCOM and a full oceanic clearance!

On Saturday 10 October, join us as we retrace one of the great voyaging routes of the Pacific, from the reef-fringed runways of Honolulu, Hawai’i to the south across the equator and onto Auckland, New Zealand

Nearly 4,000 nautical miles of open water, one of the emptiest stretches of airspace on the planet, and controllers ready to work you the whole way down.

Whether you're taking a widebody down the wire or island-hopping your way south in something smaller, there's a spot in the waka(wa’a) for you. Expect full ATC coverage at both ends, oceanic procedures across the middle, and a sunset arrival into Auckland if you time it right.

Departures out of PHNL will open from 20:00Z on 10 October to 23:00Z
Arrivals into NZAA are expected from 03:00Z on 11 October to 06:00Z
ATC Positions will be staffed around these timings, so please keep that in mind when planning.

Potential Routes for the day are as follows:

CARRP A579 CHEEM (Pilot Planned Route) then EGATO A580 ATLUR AGREX

CARRP A579 CHEEM (Pilot Planned Route) then ELPAK B575 OKTUB

CARRP A579 CHEEM (Pilot Planned Route) then OLBEX

Now it's time to follow in the path of the wayfinders!
Get ready to depart from Honolulu to find the land of the long white cloud, Aotearoa and see what's on the other side of the ocean!
