VATNZ is excited to be hosting the departure airport for the first leg of the inaugural 24 Hours of Vatsim event. This first leg will take pilots across the ditch from Auckland (NZAA) to Sydney (YSSY). With 60 departures booked in two hours, it will be all hands on deck for one of the busiest events of the VATNZ calendar.

Departure slots for this event are available through the Vatsim booking system, which can be found here.
We kindly ask that if you cannot get a departure slot for NZAA, you avoid the airport and surrounding airspace for the duration of the event.
Controllers:
We need as many controllers as possible to get this event to run well and put on a good showing to the rest of Vatsim. ATC will be rostered; bookings can be found at the top of this page. Aerodrome controllers are only required for the three hours around the departure window (0400z-0600z). An initial controller roster will be published a week before the event and finalised a few days before. If you apply and are rostered, you are expected to attend your slot.
